Plastic Bag 2.0 I Stav Teller
It is common to rush to the supermarket, while realizing the reusable bag was left behind, but many also forget the consequences of this action. Every year, 8 million tons of waste accumulate in the oceans, mainly single use plastic.
The handbag is made of plastic bags that were given a new purpose- an everyday item from an unconventional material, that would raise awareness in Israel for the damage that plastic can cause. The idea was born from the sustainability approach, and the joint effort of the artist’s family, in which the art of hand knitting passes on from generation to generation, emphasizing the importance of the people around them.
While the visitors look towards the ocean, it is possible to think of the easiest action to perform in everyday life, in order to make a change.
